Rapid developments in ski technology and tuning techniques have led to a dramatic increase in life-threatening lacerations to young ski racers around the world. On March 24, 2018, Jonathan Davis nearly bled to death from such an injury. Quick thinking from coaches and an improvised tourniquet meant the difference between life and death for Jonathan, but it was an extremely close call. By the time he arrived at a hospital for emergency surgery, he had lost seven units of blood and his pulse was dangerously low.
The Kelly Brush Foundation is partnering with Jonathan and his family to turn his injury into a national advocacy campaign aimed at distributing life-saving bleeding control kits to alpine ski programs around the country as well as provide training to coaches and volunteers.
All proceeds for orders placed through World Cup Supply go to the Kelly Brush Foundation.
